The Croatia & Montenegro cruise is a 7-night small ship cruise from Dubrovnik aboard M/Y Callisto, a classic motor yacht carrying just 34 guests. Island-hop along the Croatian coast, visiting Mljet, Korčula, Lastovo, Vis and Hvar before sailing into Montenegro’s spectacular Bay of Kotor.

Medieval Towns from Dubrovnik to Hvar

Stroll Dubrovnik’s marble Stradun, lose yourself in the fishbone lanes of Korčula’s old town, and watch the yachts come and go from Hvar’s Venetian harbour. Guided walks of Dubrovnik, Hvar and Kotor, entry to Mljet National Park and a wine tasting on board are all included.

Turquoise Bays & Quiet Harbours

Most days the captain drops anchor in a secluded bay so you can dive straight into the sea. Evenings are spent on Mljet, Lastovo and Vis, where fishing boats line the quay and life slows to the pace of the islands.

    Welcome to Dubrovnik

    Fly from the UK to Dubrovnik, where you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the 5-star Hotel More for a 2-night stay.

    Your Seaside Hotel in Lapad

    Hotel More is a 5-star boutique hotel on the waterfront of Lapad Bay, around 3.5 km from Dubrovnik's Old Town. Rooms look out over the Adriatic, with a spa, outdoor pool and direct access to the sea.

    Sunset at the Cave Bar

    End your first evening at Cave Bar More, set inside a natural limestone cave beneath the hotel, with a terrace right on the water facing the sunset.

    Explore Dubrovnik

    Dubrovnik at Your Own Pace

    Today is free to explore. Local buses run from Lapad to the Old Town about every 10 minutes, so it's easy to come and go as you please.

    Walk the City Walls

    Set out early to walk the full circuit of the city walls before the heat and crowds build, with views over terracotta rooftops and the open sea.

    Cable Car or Lokrum Island

    Ride the cable car up Mount Srđ for the classic panorama of the Old Town and the Elaphiti Islands, or take the short boat trip to wooded Lokrum for a swim.

    Welcome Aboard at Gruž Port

    Transfer to Gruž Port and board Callisto from 14:00, where the captain and crew are waiting to welcome you.

    Guided Walk of the Old Town

    This afternoon, an included guided walk reveals the story of the Republic of Ragusa, once one of the Mediterranean's great maritime powers, through its palaces, churches and fountains.

    Meet your fellow guests at the welcome cocktail party, followed by your first dinner on board as the city walls light up.

    Korcula – Mljet – Dubrovnik

    First Swim Stop off Šipan

    Sail north-west into the Elaphiti archipelago and drop anchor off Šipanska Luka for your first swim straight from the yacht.

    Mljet National Park

    In Pomena, your Cruise Director leads a walk to the park's two saltwater lakes, with national park entry included.

    Dinner in Pomena

    The evening is yours to dine ashore in one of Pomena's family-run tavernas, with fresh Adriatic fish and local olive oil.

    Morning Swim Stop

    The captain anchors in clear water for a morning swim before Callisto arrives in Korčula, often called 'Little Dubrovnik'.

    Explore Korčula Town

    Wander the walled old town at your own pace, discovering hidden alleyways, Venetian architecture and waterfront cafés in the town widely believed to be Marco Polo's birthplace.

    Optional Lumbarda Wine Experience

    Head to the village of Lumbarda to taste four local wines, including the rare white Grk, with prosciutto, sheep's cheese and homemade bread.

    Lastovo

    Croatia's Remote Nature Park

    More than 70% of Lastovo is covered in Mediterranean forest, and the island is a protected nature park. A morning swim stop and lunch on board start the day.

    Optional Island Experiences

    Join the Fishermen of Lastovo experience, or visit hilltop Lastovo village for its stone houses, centuries-old churches and a taste of island wine.

    Konoba Dinner in Ubli

    Dine ashore in a family-run konoba this evening; your Cruise Director will happily recommend their favourites.

    Vis (Komiža)

    Swim Stop and Komiža

    After a morning swim, arrive in Komiža, a traditional fishing town on Vis and one of Croatia's most authentic islands.

    Optional Tours or the Blue Cave

    Discover Komiža's fishing heritage, wartime tunnels and local wineries, or take a boat to the Blue Cave on Biševo (weather permitting, payable locally).

    Dinner on Board in Komiža

    Return to Callisto for dinner as she stays overnight in Komiža harbour.

    Pakleni Islands / Hvar

    Swimming in the Pakleni Islands

    Cruise past the pine-covered Pakleni Islands for a swim stop and lunch on board.

    Guided Walk of Hvar Town

    Explore Hvar's Venetian square, waterfront promenade and hilltop fortress on an included walk with a local guide, or join an optional tasting at a family winery.

    Overnight to Montenegro

    Return to the yacht for a late departure as Callisto sails overnight towards Montenegro.

    Bay of Kotor, Montenegro

    Into the Bay of Kotor

    Wake as Callisto sails into the Bay of Kotor, framed by steep mountains and waterfront villages.

    Kotor Old Town and Lovćen

    An included morning walk explores UNESCO-listed Kotor's squares, churches and Venetian palaces. In the afternoon, an optional drive climbs to Njeguši village and Lovćen for sweeping views and local smoked ham and cheese.

    Captain's Farewell Dinner

    Celebrate the week at the Captain's Farewell Dinner before Callisto sails overnight back to Dubrovnik.

Routes may need to be varied in the event of adverse weather and operating conditions at the captains discretion, in the interests of the comfort and safety of guests. The Captain and Cruise Director will will keep you fully briefed on the daily programme.
At some ports of call, disembarkation may be by tender. Our crew will be on hand to provide assistance wherever possible, however a reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility is required.

A 34-Guest Small Ship
Operated by Variety Cruises, M/Y Callisto is a 50-metre (164 ft) motor yacht with classic lines, warm wood interiors and light, contemporary fabrics. With just 17 outside cabins and a maximum of 34 guests, she offers a relaxed, personal way to cruise the Croatian coast and Montenegro.

Inviting Public Spaces:
On the Upper Deck, the lounge and bar connect to the dining room through an art-lined gallery, and all guests dine together at a single seating. When the weather allows, meals move to the open-air dining area, while the Sun Deck above offers loungers, shade and a library with wraparound windows.

Built for Safety, Refreshed for Comfort:
Launched in 2000 to international SOLAS safety standards, Callisto was fully refitted in 2016 and renovated again in 2022. A crew of 16 looks after guests, roughly one crew member for every two guests.

Swimming and Water Sports:
At each anchorage, the stern swim platform makes it easy to slip into the sea. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkelling gear are free to use throughout the cruise.
